Don’s Did You Know?

Customer Experience (CX) is at the fore front of most every project we undertake here in Sulphur Springs. While CX is primarily focused on our home owners, we also consider you, our valued retailers and community operators, as our customer as well. Our team worked to implement a better way to help your trim out teams understand how to “properly” trim out our homes. They built a new ship loose material program and experimented with a couple of our models and the results were outstanding. To the point where we have virtually no shortages on trim out materials for those homes. So, we have now reviewed every model we build and implemented the same ship loose program. You will find details of this new program in the QA section of this newsletter. Be sure to share this with your setup and trim out teams. Thanks, and let us know how we can continue to improve.

Customer Care Spotlight

This month in our spotlight we would like to honor Kyle Nacol. Kyle has done contract labor with our factory for over 8 years now, but has been in the industry for over 24 years. His knowledge of the industry and our product is a blessing to everyone he comes in contact with. His smile is infectious and his eagerness to help never goes unnoticed.

He has been married to his sweet wife Rene for 38 years and has four children and seven grandchildren. Not only do we consider Kyle a valuable asset to our Customer Care Department, but a very dear friend as well. If we need excellent service we can always count on him. Thank you Kyle…words can never express our gratitude to you.

Service Tidbit

Just as a reminder…our houses require installations of ridge vents. We have noticed that during our monthly retailer visits that some locations are lot-setting our homes without them. This can create a multitude of problems, increasing service cost and can potentially void the warranty. If you have any questions in reference to the installation method, please refer to manufacturer instructions found in the house pack.

Sales Feature

The Power House is part of our Solution Series, and is a 1,369 square foot home with 3 Bedrooms and 2 Baths. Appropriately named, this home makes a strong statement the moment you walk in. The optional transom windows in the kitchen and dining room provide an abundance of natural light, making this open design feel even larger. It brings the outdoors into your home without losing energy efficiency.

The kitchen features a massive pantry, which adds more storage opportunities to an already spacious layout. The sizable living room features an optional entertainment center that will hold a 70” TV, which makes this home perfect for entertaining friends and family alike. Looking for relaxation, then retreat to your Master Bedroom which is filled with warm wood tones. You can soak in the large tub, or simply read a book in bed. The Power House is packed with value, and provides all the needs and comforts of the ideal home at an affordable price point.

Environmental Health & Safety

Clayton Sulphur Springs ended the year strong. We had 2 OSHA recordables this year down from 5 last year. The success of our Safety Program is attributed to the engagement of our Leadership Team and Team Members! We Look forward to making more improvements in 2018. The Sulphur Springs Team is scheduled for the new standard of ISO 14001-2015 certification this February. There will be some new requirements mandated in this new standard. One of the requirements is an ISO Vendor Agreement Package that will be issued to each person or person’s representing different companies while visiting our facility. The purpose of the Vendor Agreement is to educate vendors of our environmental program and emergency evacuation procedures to follow while on our property.

Employee Engagement

Last month, our fabulous PRIDE Team coordinated Sulphur Springs’ first-ever Christmas Open House! Team Members were encouraged to bring their loved ones and celebrate the holidays with their Clayton Sulphur Springs family. Several fun activities were lined up, including: pictures with Santa, a plant tour, surprise gift giveaways for all the kiddos, complimentary food and drinks, a bounce house, and an ongoing indoor snowball fight!

We had an amazing turnout, and the Open House was a huge hit! We look forward to enjoying this new tradition here at Sulphur Springs each year. Click on the video above to view a slide show of photos and videos showcasing the event. It’s sure to bring a smile to your face!

 Quality Assurance

Going the extra mile to help make our trim outs a World-Class Experience. Help Make Our Trim Outs a World Class Experience. Clayton Sulphur Springs has implemented a NEW marriage line load loose sheet to show retailers and community partners the exact trim items needed and the exact location they should be installed. Each home will be sent with a floor plan showing each area of the marriage line referenced by different package numbers. Package #3 below shows an example of a living area opening.
